Frosted by Maddie

Frosted by Maddie is a vibrant, 30x30 sprinkle-filled mural I painted on the exterior of a bakery in Paris, IL, in 2023. The project began with an initial quote and an assessment of the wall’s condition to determine if any prep work was needed. After wire brushing off old paint, I applied a fresh base coat of white to create a clean canvas.

To create the playful sprinkle design, I crafted custom cardboard stencils, which I used to trace a random pattern across the wall. I then brought the design to life by scattering three cheerful colors throughout the sprinkles.

It was an absolute joy to collaborate with the bakery’s young and talented owner, Maddie Neiswinger, who has since expanded her business with a second location in Terre Haute, IN. This mural marked my first large-scale project and became the inspiration for my children’s cookbook, Bitsy Bakers.
