Sunflower Silo

The Sunflower Silo is a 360-degree mural of bright yellow sunflowers that wraps around an old corrugated metal farm silo in my client Mary Phipps’ yard. Mary, who was my high school FCS teacher, wanted something cheerful to enjoy year-round as she drives down her long driveway.

The silo is the only thing left from the property’s old farm days, so it was fun to turn it into a standout piece. Using scaffolding, I painted sunflowers of all sizes, some looking like they’re blowing in the wind. To add a little extra charm, I included a tiny hummingbird on the old electrical box, bringing even more color to the design.
