Bitsy Bakers Cookbook

Bitsy Bakers is a children's cookbook designed for ages 8+ as a fun and educational introduction to baking. Created in a typography course, the book focuses on type layout in a playful, engaging format that captivates young readers. Each recipe is paired with a hand-drawn character illustration and an activity to keep kids entertained while their creations bake. These illustrations were crafted in Procreate, while the book design was completed using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
Since sharing on social media, Bitsy Bakers has sold over 120 copies, making headlines in newspapers and being featured in local libraries. The book encourages quality time between children and their grown-ups, making it a perfect gift for birthdays and holidays. Its colorful illustrations, lively typography, and hands-on activities make baking fun and approachable for kids, transforming a traditionally adult-centered task into an engaging and memorable experience.
Inspired by the lack of children’s cookbooks that combine recipes with interactive activities, Bitsy Bakers bridges this gap. The book promotes creativity, education, and fun, giving young bakers the confidence to explore the kitchen while making cherished memories with their families. I hope to design more editions of this book or really look into the children’s design field, as I find it very rewarding and more fit to my personal style.
