Moon + Sun

Moon + Sun was a Senior Studio project where I designed a complete brand guide for Moon + Sun, a freeze-dried candy business based in Danville, IL, owned and operated by single mother Taylor Rothwell. The business embodies her strong relationship with her son, a passion for supporting local communities, and gratitude for life’s simple joys. I offered this service through a social media contest, with Moon + Sun winning the rebranding in exchange for using it as part of my coursework.
The brand guide included a flat and animated logo, a custom color palette, a mission statement, menu design, and various mockups to showcase its versatility. Moon + Sun’s new branding bridges generational appeal, enticing children with fun visuals and attracting adults intrigued by a fresh take on traditional sweets. The cohesive identity now enables the business to elevate its packaging and marketing while staying true to its values of small business pride and creativity.
Created using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, this project demonstrates my ability to transform a business’s story into a visual identity that connects with its audience and supports growth. It was also my first time presenting the final product to a client in person, and the experience was incredibly rewarding. Seeing her reaction was both fulfilling and motivating, and it has inspired me to continue pursuing more projects like this.
